Before Care Instructions

Prepair for your waxing service by making sure your hair is about 1/4-inch long (about the length of a grain of rice)

You should expect some pain if this is your first time getting waxed. We use a quality hard wax that minimizes discomfort.

Many clients prefer to take a pain reliever 20-30 minutes before their first waxing service to reduce any discomfort or inflammation.

For best results, exfoliate before your appointment to remove any dead layers of skin.

Wear loose clothing for optimal comfort after your waxing

Make sure your esthetician is aware of any medications or health issues that could be a concern.

Take a breath your almost there. I promise it won’t be as bad as you think.

After Care Instructions

For the next 24-48 hours

No touching! After waxing your hair follicles need time to close. Avoid spreading bacteria by minimizing skin to skin contact on the newly waxed area.

Relax! No sports, gym, exercise, sunbathing, or tanning beds.

Do not apply any perfumes, body sprays, deodorants, powders, lotions, or any other products not recommended by your waxing specialist.

No swimming pools/beach, saunas, hot tubs, or steam treatments.

Do NOT shave between appointments. Waxing is meant to thin hair growth. Shaving will cause the hair to become coarse again.

No sexual activity if waxed in this area.

EXFOLIATION! After you begin waxing, exfoliating must become a part of your daily routine. Use aftercare products to ensure best results and prevent ingrown hairs.

Moisturize. Not only is it important to remove any dead skin layers, it is very important to hydrate and revitalize new skin growth.

Rebook every 4 weeks. This is the perfect time to plan your next wax to minimize pain and discomfort and give you the best results.

FAQs

How Long Does Waxing Last?
Waxing helps in the removal of the hair from the roots and may last anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks!

How long does my hair need to be?
Your hair needs be at least ¼ inch long, or about the length of a grain of rice.
Even if you’re feeling a little Chewbacca, it’s better to go in with all you’ve got rather than not enough!

Does Waxing Hurt?
The level of pain depends on how sensitive your skin is to the discomfort, stretching and pain. It also depends on the thickness of your hair follicles. The pain is not unbearable in most cases, especially with our hard wax since there are no strips involved.

Will the Hair grow back thicker & darker?
Many are nervous that waxing may lead to thicker, darker hair, which is not true. With continued waxing, the new hair grow back thinner, finer and lighter. The hair growth may even stop growing with long-term waxing!

When should I start exfoliating?
If you have never been waxed before, we recommend starting an exfoliation routine a few days before your first wax to help prevent ingrown hairs. Then continuing to exfoliate & moisturize daily. If you have questions about what kind of routine would be best for you, ask your esthetician during your visit!

What should I exfoliate with?
A film free scrub that works best for you, but especially for Brazilian waxing. Just ask your esthetician what she recommends when you come in!

What’s the ideal age to get waxed?
You can never be too old to get waxed! As for the age to start waxing- that is completely up to you, or your parents if you’re under the age of 16. Guests 16 and younger need to bring in a parent for the first appointment to give consent. After that they can return on their own without a parent needing to be present.

Should I take a pain reliever before my appointment?
If you have low pain tolerance, you can take ibuprofen before your visit to help out, but that is totally up to you!
If you going to take some try to take it at least 45 minutes ahead of time.

I’m pregnant, can I get waxed?
Absolutely! There is no harm to you or your baby, but your skin may feel a bit more tender during pregnancy.

 What if I’m taking medications or have allergies?
If you’re taking any medications or have allergies, please let us know before getting waxed. Taking antibiotics, oral or topical acne medications including Accutane, Differin or Retin A may make skin more sensitive & susceptible to skin lifting due to skin dryness and thinning. Let us know which medication you are on so we can identify a safe space of time between stopping the medication and receiving your wax service to be safe.

How close together should I schedule my wax appointments?
We recommend three or four weeks to everyone. Yet, it is completely up to you since not all re-growth cycles are the same. Some like to get waxed every 3 weeks, while some can make it up to six! If you are unsure of how close to book your appointments, try four weeks to start out and go from there!

What if I need to cancel or change my appointment?
